Hello All,

My dealer has these notes, and I am unsure if the notes are real or fake. The reason of my worries is that these notes are in AU-UNC condition, and I do not know if they could be possibly be fakes. If someone could help me find out if how to identify these notes as either fake or real, It would be greatly appreciated. I checked the FIC note and It has watermark but I need to know more security features. Thanks

Please Note these pictures are not what is being sold. Just as reference.

If the FI-C has the watermark I'd say it's genuine (it's P#51a Signature 6 = 1925-26). The writing or printing below the design shouldn't be there.
The catalog has it at VG $20, VF $100, UNC $400.
Any chance of posting the reverse?

The IBC must be a specialized issue and I don't have that catalog so sorry can't help you there.

Here's the link for the FIC note: http://banknote.ws/COLLECTION/count.../FIC0051.htm
the IBC is from PMG

Thanks for the info, the dealer was selling it at approx. 185 USD but it was clearly white no folds, corners sharp, colors were bright made me wonder if it was fake too good to be true right?

If its truly AU/UNC, $185 is a fantastic price for that indochina note.

Get a black light also known as a UV flashlight. Shine it over the border of the note. If the note has been chemically cleaned or washed you will see a difference in the shading of the note. The UV light will also pickup if any repairs have been done to the note.

As for the watermark hold the note at an angle and the water mark should not be visible. Fake notes can have a fake water mark it is printed on in watermark ink. Google watermarking ink.

@Share thanks for the info, I do remember when the note was flat you could see the watermark. Would that be a problem. Also do you know about the security features of the IBC note?
