As I dip my toe into the water of buying for resale I looked at Overstock.com to see if there were bargains there.

From the little bit of research I've done this week, it seems that the final prices realized on Overstock are running ahead of ebay.

Does anybody have any experience from the sellers viewpoint on this site? Pros and cons are both appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I search the O every once in awhile. I have only found over priced coins full of problems with enormous reserves or starting $ which poses a big problem when it comes to resell. Like ebay, most of the coins in online auctions are there for a reason...They have problems, have past through several hands (dealer and collector), and are at the end of the road on their last stop. However, if one is persistent they could always find a diamond in the ruff and NOT get buried in their purchase. As for selling on the O...you will get a fraction of the traffic or views when compared to Heritage or the Bay. Most of the pieces I find for resell or a quick flip are the ones I find in my local coin shop/small shows(mostly cherry picking varieties to put on the Bay, Boards, Heritage, or sell to known variety collectors) and typically make a 10X return to fund my personal collection. i.e. This weekend I picked up a problem free, nicely toned/crusty AU 1826 CBH 50c for $100 (the only downside is I think I may keep it). Most of the times small dealer shops and shows are weeks or months behind the price curve/trend and their wares are often under priced ...especially seated and bust coinage.
