That Chia Pet-Koala isn't just the President of the Hair Club for Men -- he's a member, too!

for some reason, I dont like the Perth Mint. I have stopped buying anything from them. I think when they went back to re-doing the Kooks I said forget this.... and so I am on a buyers strike. They put out wayyyy to much stuff. Almost like the RCM mint, tho I think the RCM has and reaches a wider audience. The only aussie product I will buy are select pieces from the royal australian mint and thats it.

it makes me wonder how many people will flock back to them for Bullion stuffs. There are still lots of angry folks (re: re-minting). Their numismatic coins has been suffering but will see how these do.

I like the Lunar Horse... But then again since I've had horses my entire life I'm kinda partial to them.. Lol.. If it was an Appaloosa color scheme (or even a paint) it would have looked even better, IMHO. I think a blanket Appaloosa would have looked amazing opposed to a "solid color" But that said... I'm not really a Perth fan, they command way too much of a premium for my liking.. I've been collecting the APMEX year of the "......" Bars, I can't wait to see what their horse looks like... Hopefully it's an Appy... Or at least a paint.. Lol, can you guess what kind of horses I have?

I only started collecting last September but I can understand how people would be furious about the re-mints. That being said, in my short time collecting I have had to chase down previous Kooks, Koalas and Lunars and it was expensive. I am glad to be caught up and will keep my collections going by buying the new version every year. Less design appeal may lead to less minted and that is fine by me.

kooka and horse are OK ... koala - ugly as bear's crap, will get me 1oz and 1/2 oz though I like P.mint ... nice coins, not boring to collect, even if the coin is ugly )) ... collecting kookas, lunars, koalas .. roos are really hard to get at reasonable price
re-mints ... well, they let me almost complete my collection by not paying big money (on average payed $36/coin including shipping and only 5 coins to go) ... people suffered? hey, it is bullion not a numismatic item, so be ready for this. I have no problem with remints as it is limited to 300k of total mintage and far less were minted (at max 20K), while late year mintage is 500k, so the potential for price increase is still good.

To me, that was tacky, you basically took a dump on your customers. What other mints pulled that stunt? No others that I know off. So, Perth Mint loses my business I buy beyond silly bullion coins. :D now imagine how many other high net worth collectors they mad. lol

Perth Mint website now has the video with the 2014 bullion release. The coins pictures not really clear, but watchable. The Platypus amazing...why they didn't do it as silver coin too? Btw, in one of my visits to CC&C store, I asked the staff there, if the Silver Platypus exists, and "knowledgeable" people answered: "You've should check Australian websites, probably they have it".

Lunar horse design is ok I guess; with the kooks I prefer a less intrusive background myself; koala is fugly - looks like it should be in a circus imo.
Glad I don't collect any of those 3 series as I can easily live without any of those particular designs.
