I'm suddenly very interested in the GSA Hoard of Morgans. I understand price fluctuates depending on grade as well as rarity. The 1884 CC seems to be the most common. Can someone give me an idea of what I might pay (or shouldn't pay) for one with the COA and original box / case? Thank you in advance.

Current price on the common 82-84 is in the $200-225 range for MS62/63 coins.

A mid grade (MS63) should be available for around $180 or so. Shop around on The Bay. Some of the harder to get CC's in GSA (1880, 1881, 1885) demand a significant premium in original GSA packaging.

I've been looking a little, and with box and COA in the GSA holder, most of the 82-84's go for around $200, give or take. I'm personally going to try to find an NGC graded one and spend a few extra bucks.

No set price really but, realistically about $250 for a NICE MS63. Remember you generally have to pay more $$$$ for better looking coins. And remember don't get tempted buying just because it's TPG graded MS63, shop around because there are many to choose from, you want to buy the coin that you like.

I like the flyer also. I don't remember ever seeing one of those before. But I was young and foolish then.

I got mine from Selection 3 from that flyer, the mixed CC selection for $15. Got a textile toned 1881 CC. Wish I'd had more money back then.

I also find the description of selection 2 interesting, the Mixed Unc catagory. These would have the been the coins in the hard case marked United States Uncirculated Silver Dollar. They say these are mixed Morgan and Peace dollars but as far as I know no hard pack Peace dollar has ever been reported.
