I have been looking around ebay this morning and found a few good laughs that I wanted to share. The following are my TOP 10 direct quotes.

Seller 1.
a great price on these hard to find Barber coins
There were over 10,000 Barber coins total in this purchase

Yep, sounds hard to find to me.....

Seller 2.
(1) SILVER DOLLAR with every lot purchased
ANY single lots purchased that do not have a SILVER DOLLAR (Peace or Morgan) WILL HAVE at LEAST Two(2) 1964 or earlier HALVES included in their LOT

Seller 3.
LINCOLN Wheat penny COLLECTION--COMPLETE
Comes with a New high quality coin album, with some empty spaces

Seller 4.
LISTS FOR A HUGE $27,500 BUT YOU DECIDE WHAT IT IS WORTH
What else can I say about this one

Seller 5.
PACKETS OF GOLD NUGGETS(NOT DUST) STRAIT FROM NATURE
Does gold come from someplace else?

Seller 6.
2004 S Silver FL Cameo PF70 (two, consecutive serial numbers- VERY RARE) !!
With the future of circulated SBA Dollars in doubt, get these NOW
The newer years (2004) are worth less than older years but probably will DOUBLE their value in one-two years
Stunning Coin that should grade at least PF68 and probably higher
If anyone bids during the first 24 hours, I will throw in an old GOLD COIN

What a sales pitch! Should be selling coins on TV

Seller 7.
ALL BOOK VALUES ARE QUOTED FROM https://www.PCGS.COM PRICE GUIDE
NOTE: WHILE WE GUARANTEE THE HIGHEST QUALITY "BU" COINS FROM OUR VAST INVENTORY, WE CANNOT GUARANTEE THE HIGHEST CERTIFICATION POSSIBLE IF SUBMITTING TO A THIRD PARTY GRADING COMPANY AS GRADING IS SUBJECTIVE AND VERY SELDOM WILL YOU GET THE SAME GRADE IF YOU SEND THE SAME COIN IN TWICE.

Seller 8.
OLD COINS UNDER FLOOR IN OLD HOUSE!
Must have been one heck of a house as this same line is used 91 times.

Seller 9.
RARE 1913 V nickel! PROOFLIKE REPRO
I guess that someone somewhere believes this one. This seller offers many reproductions (of course most are not listed that way), they also sell "how to be a coin dealer" 11 page pamphlets. That is with the bargain price of $12.95 "Which American coins to buy right now is also available for the bargain price of $12.95 Not a bad "How to get rich" idea. 11 pieces of paper (computer printed) for $12.95 + shipping.

Seller 10. THIS HAS TO BE MY FAVORITE!
900%Silver-Coin-Rare
I DONT NO ENYTHING
GOD BLESS AMERICAN
WE DUE NOT TAKE PERSONAL CHECKS

This "mensa" candidate has a current feedback rating of 1402 with 99.9% positive.

Did any of these sellers mention being a door to door salesman that turned to ebay after being shot at so many times?

Sadly, it was frustration with some of the recent ads that brought me here! I had run across the spurious National Gallery Grading Co. (think I have the wording right) and was searching for info that would confirm what I suspected about such snake-oil sales. When I run across a barely literate ad on ebay it's one thing; to encounter such unscupulousness in person is really off-putting.

Welcome heydave,

Frustration can be a valuable teacher. You have found a good group here. If you wish to learn, there are many here willing to share a little knowledge.
