I came into contact with some old Chinese cash coins, and the attribution of a few alludes me. These coins are generally outside my collection sphere and I know very little about them. Help!

Any thoughts?

"Old" is right. If genuine, this is a piece of the "huo-ch'uan" coinage of Wang Mang the Usurper, who ruled two thousand years ago (AD 7 to AD 22).

These were given to me as freebies as part of a huuuge lot of rare Indian coins I bought. The seller is an expert in eastern coins, so there is no doubt in my mind as to there authenticity. Thanks, I knew someone would know something!! I got some more to post, that I have no idea what they are.

From Schjoeth:
"Hou-ch'uean" coin introduced 14AD. Considerably counterfeited at that time.

The attribution for your coin would be either Schjoeth#149 or Schjoeth#154, both have plain reverse with 149 being thicker but having thinner rim while 154 is thinner with a broader rim.

Postscript:

Forgot to mention that it definitely is the reign of Wang Mang.
