Took the detector (MXT Pro) out yesterday and hit a couple old mining sites in the mountains behind my house. Found the usual broken chisels, shoe tacks etc. but imagine my surprise when I found a 1925 s penny at about 12 inches right next to a vertical shaft! It is in great shape. Definitely wasn't in circulation long before it was lost. Dry Arizona weather kept it looking new. This is my first post and I will try to figure how to upload a pic and pics of some of my finds over the last year.

Same here. When people say "Mine", I think of the one that goes boom in the ground when people walk over it.
