Pics of this coin to come later, but I found initials K.F.A. on the obverse on Kennedy's neck and "Karl Ahrens" on the reverse, flanking the hall.

Name-Found-On-A-Bicen-Half-Dollar:-Karl-F.-Ahrens

The name ring any bells for anyone?

It is not uncommon for larger coins like the half and dollar coin to be stamped with names and slogans.

The best I could find on Google was a politician in Germany but it is a fairly common name.

It could have been just someone who thought it was fun...

I've found pennies marked with numbers stamped on them. One with "27" and another with "28". You think someone wanted to melt them?

I've found all kinds of counterstamped (letters and numbers) half dollars roll hunting. I have found several Jims Coins and a few one off that were done in the same way as the OP with an electric engraver. I know it is an electric engraver because I used one to mark all of my Snap On tools when I was a mechanic as everyone used the same tools and if you set yours down it was hard to tell yours from the guy next to you even if no malicious intentions occurred when he walked off with your $125 ratchet.
