I think these issues were from a Syrian / Mesopotamian mint, since Valerian was campaigning in that region against the invading Persians. Antioch or Samosata. Report this Post to the Staff

All of the coins I have found of this issue have badly done eyes. Id is: Valerian I AR Antoninianus. Antioch mint, 257 AD. IMP VALERIANVS AVG, radiate, draped & cuirassed bust right / P M TR P V COS IIII P P, Valerian and Gallienus standing face to face, shields and spears between them. RIC 277, Cohen 169, Göbl 1598a.
