Hello I decided to join this community because I was given a dragon dollar and I was wondering if anyone would be able to tell me if it was real our a counterfeit. thanks!
There have been so many fake Chinese coins made in the last few decades, that unless a coin is acquired from a known expert in Chinese coins, it's always best to assume it is not genuine.
In this particular case, it's relatively easy to confirm that it is not genuine. The weight given on the English-language side is "7 mace 2 candareens" - the official weight of a silver dollar coin. But on the Chinese-language side, the weight given is "1 silver tael" - a "tael" being equal to 10 mace. So whoever made this particular fake mixed up the dies from two different coins, of two different denominations. This is a very common "mistake" the fake-makers do on their cheaper counterfeits.
Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis
