British coinage generally, at the time this one was issued, saw heavy circulation, and they remained in circulation for a long time. Higher grades are quite scarce.
Could you point me to a place where I can purchase such a specimen for a similar price? This piece is listed at £162 and I'm definitely sure I can't get the price down to £100 let alone £45.

Googled 'coin dealers U.K.' I was looking through Peter Morris (U.K.) listings. I found five sixpences of George 11, that would fit within your budget, in a price and condition range, that may be of interest to you.
