This coin is from Ethiopia, back when it was still a monarchy. The person depicted on the obverse is the last Emperor, Heile Selassie. The coin is a 25 santeem (cents) dated 1936 in the Ethiopian calendar; although this date converts to AD 1944, this coin was not actually struck until 1952-53.

KM36 Ethiopia 25 cents (1944). ID is easier (as opposed to the 1, 5 or 10 cents) because of the scallop effect on the edge.
