Ive been reading this thread for a few days and have decided to sell my gold coin. Is ebay really a safe place to sell something that valuable?. From what I've been reading about Paypal its a scammers paradise.

I saw this gold superman coin go up for sell for less then an hour at $2350 buy it now and another one end at $2400. I watched it and next thing you know it, SOLD. I thought the price was dropping but I guess not.

Regarding paypal it's very one sided for the buyer. I remember reading somewhere even if someone signed for it, and it's not the buyers that signed for it, you may have a problem. And sending an expensive coin to the US is basically impossible. No one will insure it for some reason.

Hi ChubbyCheeks, thanks for the advice ill stay clear of paypal. I cant afford to take a loss like that. I've listed on kijiji at $2200, see if I can get a decent cash buyer.

Not to say it's a scammers paradise, because transactions go smoothly almost all the time. But with this coin the real issue is shipping the coin safely.

I agree with you about the insurance issue. I spoke to Canada Post and they only insure coins up to $600 even if you buy coverage for the parcel to the full value. So that would leave Fedex which is $$$. Looking at the shipping rates being charge by sellers on ebay they are not charging buyers for properly insured shipping. I can see some sellers ending up with chargebacks on their paypal accounts in the near future.

And there was no limit...

So for the person who bought 100 of them, and sold all making "only" $1000 profit per each coin, this RCM page - sweet memories....

Yup, remember staring at that "add to cart" for a long time, thinking, nah.... so, missed the boat...toot, toot.... But with all the new releases coming out each month, figure there will be another boat coming around real soon....

Got my gold coin in the mail today from tails. So the coin was left on my doorstep by canadapost, had a small laugh there ( very small ) Anyways it looks good bigger then I thought it would be. I was expecting something a little bigger the gold blessing coins. Happy to add it too my collection.

I thought the gold coin always had a limit of 2 on it. Or at least that's what I remember when I ordered it the first time from the RCM.
