What would you grade it? (Appears to have some die cracks on the reverse too)

MS61/62 BN The reverse almost looks like an AU but I think it's Mint State, I'm thinking the reverse looks this way due to being shot through a loupe. A really tough call whether or not it's AU or MS, the coin is certainly well struck up and there isn't any wear or rub seen on the usual spots on the obverse like the shield, WE, or the arrow tips. The reverse discolored areas in the field are what is throwing me if I only saw one side I'd call this MS on the obverse no problem and AU from the reverse only. As supgog states below, the surfaces could have been messed with or recolored a pretty common thing to have on nicely struck up Two Cent Pieces it seems, I see a lot of recolored ones in my searches for cool varieties and other oddities, and I look at a lot of them, probably several hundred every month over the past 25 years! I like the die cracks and think they add to the desirability of this coin. It's a Fancy 5 date by the way, in 1865 there is the more common fancy 5 and the less seen plain 5 in the date, not that it makes any real difference in pricing, but if you didn't know that now you do! I've edited above to change my grade a point lower and add some more insight on this two center!

I don't see wear, but I can say nothing about whether the surfaces are authentic from these pics.

I don't mean to be a downer, but I can see what I consider to be the slightest bit of wear on this one. Then again, if outvoted I'll get on board with the majority.

Is that the actual color? It would be a bit odd for Two Cent Pieces. I don't see much if any wear, but a flatter, clearer picture would help.

With these pictures I would have to say about as high as AU as you can get (do they have a AU59? ) but I could believe it to be low MS with different pictures. I am curious about the color as well. I stopped taking pictures of mine because the pictures were never representative of the color in hand. I suspect the color is just fine and it is the pictures that are off. That is one nice 2 cent piece .

Quote: I need another method of taking photos other than aiming the camera through a loupe. Those are better than I can do! IMHO not cleaned but I am still in the high AU camp. The leaves and the arrows look like they have seen a wee bit of action. This is a very nice 2 center !
