Nice buy for $3! Although if the person who sold it to you said it was MS65 they were very misleading imo.

You got a pretty good deal on that Clipped Planchet.

Where are they selling clipped planchets for $165? I might sell a few coins.
Here is one on ebay that is nicer than yours.

This forum has a lot of knowledgeable people and a few of the top experts in the field. I pretty much learn something new every day. Good luck and Happy Hunting!

There is also a "Grading Forum"on this site where you can post pictures of your coins and forum members will grade your coins so you can get a decent idea of grade.

The problem is that it is an asking price, not an actual sell price. Anyone can list a coin on ebay for any amount of money but that does not mean the seller will ever see it sell and that coin is most certainly not worth anywhere near $160.

The price you paid ($3) is a good price for that coin. But it's only worth Maybe a few dollars higher based on recent sales.

It's worth only what someone is willing to pay for it.
Nice find either way. Technically it is a lightly circulated coin and has some decent color to it. Seems to be a lot of over grading going on especially with red lincolns.
