At work the other day one of the office people who knows I collect coins hands me a coin I've never seen before. All I could make out was the number 2 and Israel on the coin. Just did a little research and found out its a 2 shekel Israel coin. Kind of cool especially for free.

And it's worth about 50 cents!

There is also a 5-shekel and 10-shekel coin, worth about $1.25 and $2.50. I always keep an eye out for them in junk bins.

Hebrew is usually the only hint you need that it's either Palestinian or Israeli (or a religious medal/token).
