Hey guys what are your thoughts on the color of this Peace dollar? It's currently in my set. I know nicely naturally toned Peace dollars are a rarity. What do you think?

Well I'm not all that knowledgeable when it comes to toned Peace dollars, but if this was a Morgan I would call AT for sure.

I think it's toned very very nicely

Not market acceptable in the slightest.

Doesn't look quite right. I would say AT on this one
(seems to have some wear on the high points too - possibly cleaned prior to a rapid retone)

It appears to be intentionally toned.

I agree with the others. I think it would be considered AT.

I put this one up as an educational tool....I bought this about 2 years ago in an NGC slab....UNC details artificial toning. To be honest it looks more naturally toned in hand than the pictures indicate.....photography can really bring out issues on a coin.....as well as hide stuff.

Definitely AT- looks obviously "too good to be true". However, it looks pretty cool, especially when you consider that it is a Peace dollar.

Agreed, but I'm unconvinced that it isn't NT. The reverse is key to my opinion. If found for sale I would yank that one off the market so hard it'd give Liberty whiplash.

My thoughts exactly SD. I have it noted that I picked this one up at $30....considering if this were in a righteous slab we'd be looking at something north of 5 bills

The tone on the reverse looks natural to me but the obverse just screams AT. I think someone took a coin that was starting to tone and just accelerated the heck out of it The colors are just way to vivid and normally you don't see them like that. At least not with the Peace dollars.
