Hey guys this one currently resides in an old anacs holder as a 65....what are the odds it would regrade at a 66? strong luster....nice and frosty as well.

Really well photographed. I really don't pay much attention to the efforts of the TPG's. There are differences between them and me. They are professionals, I am not. For this reason, their opinion should be more respected than mine. However, on this occasion, I happen to agree with them. Very difficult to see any nicks and scratches on this one, even with the photography as merciless as it is here. The uneven toning has detracted from the eye appeal somewhat.

Technically, I would call it a 66. But I think it would cross at 65 or 65+. Quote: The uneven toning has detracted from the eye appeal somewhat. I agree with Sel on this. I think the toning may keep this coin from a 66.

If you insist on cracking and resubbing, give it a real quick dip. It looks real clean.

I would leave it in the old ANACS holder. To me, having coins in old TPG holders and old albums is a cool twist to collecting.

No way it grades a 66 IMO, the reverse looks like it has a tiny bit of circulation esp on the breast of the eagle.

silvernewbie, you're mistaking a sliiiightly weak strike for wear. Note the lack of frost breaks above the ear and on the breast. Those, and the cheek, are the first place wear occurs.
Pretty decent strike for an O-mint, although the '85's come fairly well struck.

Is there any chatter in the obverse fields? If it's very clean then I think it has a chance at a higher grade otherwise I think it will most likely stay at the same grade. Nice coin BTW!

The area with the most chatter on the obverse is under her hair around the stars. have some nice die breaks going on in the fields as well.....toning isn't as bad in hand....not saying its great but it's a bit more vibrant in hand. I'm working on getting a submission put together and was considering putting this one in the bunch....still on the fence.
