Grade it while you're at it, if you please. Not my images, obviously, but the sellers. I edited them slightly to fix the color and crop.

I am no expert on Twenty Cent Pieces but personally I don't feel comfortable purchasing this coin. One thing that make a bit uneasy are the weak details especially on the breast feathers given the lack of wear the coin seems to have. By the word Liberty, there may be a couple of lumps of metal. Parts of the denticles and rims seem a bit odd. Also the coin kind of has a cleaned look. These are characteristics that I have seen on some chinese counterfeits but without better pictures, I can't be confident that what I am seeing are indicative of a counterfeit or not.

It has a molded look...especially the stars, which look sloppy....casting?

Reverse looks genuine. Obverse is a bit off but I think this coin is genuine. IF you could send me the link to this sale I'll be able to give you a more accurate opinion. I promise I won't bid on it.

You've got an email, zx. Thanks.
I think it would grade 30-35. Not sure if it's cleaned or not, but I don't think, offhand at least, that it is. I've never owned a 20c before, so this will be a first. Will be resold for a profit if real.

Looks genuine to me. IMHO, it's an XF-40. These double-dimes often appear mushy, with uneven wear in middle grades. I like the well-balanced wear on this (obv/rev) specimen! Grab it! P.S. - You could check the weight, as given in the Red Book ... just to be assured!

I already bought it. Got it cheap enough that the only way I lose money, really, is if it's a counterfeit. What's going price for a gradable 35-40? $400+?

A problem-free VF35 lists at $670 wholesale but can often be found for less than that retail. Say $600 anyway. At XF they jump to the $800 level. There's no way to tell from those images whether it's genuine or not. The portion of the stem or feather that appears to be intersecting the left C in the mintmark is suspect.

When you have it in hand, I'd suggest posting some better pictures. These are a bit too poor to really make a definitive judgement.

I will update with high quality images when it's in hand. Also going to post to the PCGS forums at that point as well. Given where it is shipping from, I probably won't have it until Wednesday at the earliest.

I'm cautiously optimistic based on really incomplete information but factoring in that you don't get taken to the cleaners very often. Worth the risk, given the return policy. It's worth every penny of the price if real.

I am pretty sure it's not cleaned, so not worried about that, and given buyer protection, if it was an obvious counterfeit, I could file SNAD against the seller and get my money back anyway. So I would have bought it regardless of the return privilege.

Stupid PO is KILLING me. This was supposed to arrive today along with an '80-CC GSA, instead nobody on my street got mail today. "Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds." Yeah, right...
