I was looking through some coins in a folder and found this coin. It has a copper color to it, even on the edge. Anyone know if this could be a Henning nickel? It was in the coin folder for about 30 years. It weighs 4.77-4.78grams. Thanks for the help.

It was probably found outside years ago. They turn red or green outdoors.

I'd say no. The surface is roughed-up due to enviro factors. Nice try, though.
I think that elusive date may have people wondering at least a century longer.

Considering I believe the Hennings tended to be overweight, I'd say no.

Sorry but I agree. It is just damaged and not a Henning Nickel. Besides, 1941 is not one of the known Henning Nickel dates.

The pic. shows a common attribute on his nickels.
Not all but most have this. The easy one is the 1944
with no mint mark at all on the reverse above the dome.
Other years were 1939, 1946, 1947 and 1953. There also
may of been other years.
