A bit of background, when I owed a hobby store, 25 years ago, I purchased a lot of coins, mostly Russian from the 1770's, that also had several larger ancients included. They ended up in small box in the back of the safe at home, and I recently found them when cleaning it out (gawd it is amazing how much stuff one can pack rat).

This is one of two ancients that have perplexed me. I always thought of them to be knock off's, and have not looked to see if they are real or not.

This coin is 33mm in diamater, and weighs in at 24.2 grams. It has a brassy colour,

Thoughts on what it might be?

I can't make out any of the legend, it's either cast or warn and over cleaned.

Yep, sorry, but it's a cast tourist copy. The two sides are actually taken from two different coins issued by two different emperors; the obverse clearly says "HADRIANVS" in the titles and is similar to this coin. The reverse comes from this coin of Hadrian's predecessor, Trajan.
