Picked up this one recently. Passed neo magnet test. Weight about 28g. Any idea what it's worth? As I'm new to collecting I don't know much about grades. And does it look genuine?
Loos OK. £10-£15 or so. Not in the best condition - it's really worth spending more on a better example as they are common - but it's a nice hunk of silver to hold so if you are new it's nice to have.
Just as an after thought if your new to collecting and it is mainly silver you are going for (good call) try and go for Edward VII stuff - Florins, half crowns and shillings. With Victoria try and go for the young head coins or get yourself a few of the double florins in better condition, these seem to be drying up a little, used to get quite a few but not had many just of late.
You will never soar like an eagle if you hang around with turkeys.....
Thanks for the replies. Great to hear that. I probably won't sell this one. Will try to look out for a Victoria/Edward florin or 1/2 crown next. Probably not a high grade as they're too expensive for me.
