Been a good while since I had my hands on this publication. Anyways I was browsing through one at Walmart today. Is it just me or has that mag gotten thinner? Seems like a lot of ads in there....

It is happening with most of the magazines & papers (Coin World, Numismatic News, etc...); more advertising, less enjoyable amterial.

I very rarely will read CoinAge. It seems like I flip through about 4-5 pages to get to an article then 4-5 more pages for the next. Overall there seems to be little content of interest to me relative to the numerous pages of ads and other "junk". I understand that ads are needed but I would rather see it printed bi-monthly or even quarterly if that would mean less ads and more interesting articles.
Rest in Peace

CoinAge is an interesting magazine. It has a number of informative articles and a listing of current coin values. (current meaning their time of publication in or around). Their subscription is cheap and I believe they tack on an extra year. This seemed to be the case with me not sure. My wife says no
Interesting to look at some of the coins for sale in the adds. We are talking serious money.

Same here. I got coinage for several years back in the 80's and early 90's and remember them being thick and chock full of articles and features. Didn't read them then for years and bought one recently to thumb through- it seemed about half the size and full of ads. The price had gone up too. Now I just go to the website and read what I can etc. ....

You see this in all the magazines. Computer rags used to be 1000 pages and the rule of thumb seemed to be one article for every 10 pages or so for the 1st half, so you got 50 articles. Now they're all gone. Just not as much money in publishing anymore.
