They both look like they are covered with glue.

I do not have a problem with the above statement but the second picture appears to contain a section with an illogically-formed/placed die clash.

Question:

Have you ever attempted to lift up this transparent material on the obverse to determine if the image displaying through the glue also lifts up, still-attached to the glue: consequently leaving a normal obverse surface?

Another coin was stuck to it when the glue/resin/epoxy
was still sticky leaving the impression in the glue.
Remove the glue/resin and you will see. Acetone may loosen up the glue or even nail polish remover. Then just pry it off.
Only a cent so any damage is o.k.
