My bank tellers have started keeping aside all Half Dollar and Large Dollars ("Ikes").

Earlier this week I walked in and asked if they had anything for me. I was able to get 52 Half Dollars which included a 1967 Kennedy and 3 Bicentennials.

Sometimes bankers are useful!

Good finds! I wish my tellers did that.

Some bank tellers are terrific. At my local PNC Bank the tellers know I like $2 bills so they save them for me and I usually get about $10 worth each time I visit.

Be carefull mentioning this to to many tellers and/or other employees. The reason is some banks do not approve of putting anything monitarily aside. When they do that their end amount may be short and they could end up in trouble. Some BOA banks forbid any tellers doing exactly what your mentioning. One bank by me does put coins aside for customers but a few BOS branche tellers say they could lose their jobs doing that. It's a tricky situation with totals at the end of the day for each drawer.

just carl, the last thing I would want to do is put my friendly local bank tellers at any risk. But it seems that at my local branch there isn't any problem. Even the managers like to save the $2 bills for me. Just today they had 9 $2 bills for me.

Which reminds me, I haven't checked them out yet. In the past I've received a 1928 series red seal in good condition, a bunch of 1956 series and a couple of 1976 series with first day cancellation bicentennial stamps. I don't really collect folding money but these are pretty cool.
