This guy is selling these 1964 and 65 mint sets claiming "great deal for resellers" and ".999 fine silver" at ridiculous prices over $500. Whats up with this?

I reported this to ebay, he's already sold a few.
First- they are not .999 pure silver
Second- not a good deal for resellers
They sell from $40. to $60. on average
Its discouraging shopping on ebay when you see this kind of stuff.

The sold 1964 set was when he had them listed around $98. And a best offer was submitted and accepted. So they didn't pay an insane amount. What he's doing now? Who knows.

They are real coins. Not the right pureness. I don't think it's his fault if someone pays the price. They should research before they buy with other auctions. Then they would know he's out to lunch. ebay can't tell him to lower his price.

"Pure .999 Silver Coin. Newly minted and in pristine, mint condition."

That line is straight from his ad. The coins are not .999 silver thats a lie
Whats a reseller supposed to do charge $600. or more and also state that theyre .999 silver?

He got sloppy with his ad. It's a copy and paste from his other auctions. I'm sure an email to the seller to correct the info is all it would take. As for the asking price.... That's his business.

That.... or we could all be optimistic and that is just her/his way of doing a long-term auction until he/she gets the price they want.

I don't now if it is his/her goal to rip people off with that price, but there is a possibility that (s)he is just looking for offers.

I don't think I have a problem with that.

The only real issue here is the .999 statement and "newly minted".

I highly doubt anyone will pay even remotely close to that asking price. And If they do then, well it's their own fault. Investing so much money in something without a little research before hand is just plain silly.

I agree with jerseyben, the only real issue is the .999 statement... If someone wants to list something for 10x what it's worth, they can. Doesn't mean we have to buy it.
