Do proof nickels found in roll searching have any value? My son and I have found a number of them and are wondering about whether to continue keeping them. Would a coin shop be interested in buying circulated proof nickels?

I'm personally into impaired proofs, because then I can put them in folders and the like without having to worry about ruining the value.
However, I've bought most of mine at face - but, I'm sure some people are interested. Keep them! At least they're better than normal nickels.
And if you have any impaired 40% Eisenhowers...

Yes - people will buy impaired proofs. You can sell them on ebay. Or you can keep them.

Some RPMs & doubles were minted in PF only, please dont toss them. Put a lot together & trade them for dates you may need. Just the sort of offer I go for.

mcshilling,
How would I go about doing that? I have not sold anything on this Forum.

Well Jon we all have to start some time, I have bought, but not sold here. Nothing to sell.
Any way go down the main page to Buy/Sell/Trade then go into CC Auction & Pocket it Now Listing and follow what it says to do, I'm sure if you run into trouble someone will help you.

Call me odd, but I like the proof finds more than the silver finds.

I'd keep them because they're interesting (more so than a normal coin:)

Imho, any proof is worth keeping because of the rarity. For some years, I think it might be a million to one of p/d/uncirc vs proof. If I had a lot, I would probably make a roll and sell it as a roll, not as an individual coin, like a roll of proof dimes, random years. What I really like about impaired proofs though is that you can handle them. Mint condition proofs can usually only be admired through plastic. My found proof dime is the only one I've ever seen without plastic in the middle.
