Time to fill a gap. DIdnt have Volusian and I let one go cheap the other day. Higher grade silver, but this was slightly cheaper. Cost about £6. Volusian is the 79th emperor ont he 207 rankings, just behind Macrinus.

Odd copper tinge..hopefully its just from the silver being ebbed from the surface.

Alright silver content, indeed bled from the surface with (probably) acetic acid. Both dies appear worn, the obverse especially so. The SALVS side has sustained scratches but still shows facial features and the snake is clear. Its been cleaned harshly and then allowed to tone over many years leaving it a pleasant dark colour.

ID:
Volusian, SALVS AVGG, Salus feeding a snake. Rome mint.

Excellent buy for six bucks.
Not sure if you could call this cherrypicking or ancient noodling!
