Hi,

I recently came across this Confederate $100 bill. I am going to assume it is a fake, but wanted to make sure. If it is fake, is it a recent reproduction or possibly a time period fake?

Thanks,
Phil

That would be a modern reproduction, the giveaway being that it is printed on crinkly artificially aged parchment. It could date to the Civil War Centennial in the 1960s so it might be old but nowhere close to being contemporary.

This note is 100% FAKE, and when compared to the original State Note side-by-side, the paper and ink color on the signatures will jump out...

This reminds me of the assorted packs of Confederate Currency they sold in the mid 1960's.
