I'm sorry, but, as has been mentioned every time you raise this topic, they are the main reason why high-denomination bills are not made. Especially the "counterfeiting" one.
$100 bills are "redesigned every so often with new, more expensive security features" to try to keep up with the counterfeiters. Bills denominated even higher would require even more vigilance, with even more frequent redesigns and even more expensive anti-counterfeiting widgets embedded in them. $1 notes are not similarly redesigned for two reasons: they're still hoping to replace them with $1 coins, and the virtually non-existent anti-counterfeiting technology currently on them is all a note as low-value as $1 really needs, since high-tech counterfeiters aren't going to waste their time on the fiddly small stuff.
