While checking out at Costco this morning, I noticed the cashier just received 25 crisp new $1 bills for his register. I didn't want to be greedy, so I bought 10 brand new sequential dollar bills. Took them home to add to my currency collection. This is my largest sequential run, second place is now a 6 $1 sequential set.

Good for you if it makes you happy and satisfies your collecting interests.

Have you considered going to your local bank and asking for a strap of new bills? You can probably pick up 100 brand new sequential bills at face value if that's the sort of thing that floats your boat.

I have thought about going to a bank for new notes, but I enjoy finding new notes as change I receive. Just as I ask for $1 coins when making a transaction. Its the thrill of the hunt.

a similar thing happened to me yesterday. I went to the food court at the mall and my change was $14.64. I got a tattered $10 bill and 4 brand new sequential philadelphia $1.00 notes. (and a 62-D lincoln memorial +$0.63 of clad)
