Quote: I just checked out the link for the FUN show and have a question. When it says "1,500 dealers" does that mean dealers proper, or does that figure include the following ...auctions, exhibits, etc.? If it does mean dealers only, then I figured that if you went there and spent just ONE MINUTE PER DEALER then it would take you over 25 hours to view each dealers' wares. Wow!
Sounds like a place to find almost anything. I'm also thinking that Florida might have the most coin collectors per capita, considering that when retirees move down there they also take their collections with them. Just a thought. You can expect that to mean 1,500 individual dealers. FUN is big, as large as any show in the country. There may be a little "fudging" going on in that estimate, but certainly not much. There's no way I could have done that whole show, appropriately, in less than two long days. Your theory about Florida collectors is probably accurate. FUN is the most-organized collectors' club in the country and likely that's the reason. Wonder if that's why NGC is located where it is?

Quote: do not miss the Belhaven Ale. I think I remember you and Vermontesium enjoying that while I was downing some Fullers. Great pub with a great atmosphere. It helped we were all hanging out together too! Great show folks. If you can make it, do it. Lots of dealers. All hotels are actually a reasonable price as well, and there are a lot of them. Hope to see a lot of you there.

Well I may still be at the show but my funds just got cut... probably by quite a bit. Looks like I am moving from south Al to south Fl. Like real south Fl. I just accepted a transfer to the Islamorada. I will be closer to the FUN show but funds will be diminished. Still excited about living in the keys.

The educational seminar list has been posted on FUN's site... Looks to be a great line up with a couple I will definitely be attending.

This show has coins and Notes from everywhere. If it's Money it's there. BTW -4 and a "Wind chill of -39" I start my drive down in about an hour. NO the cold whether is not tied to my bumper and I am not dragging it with me! . It's already there! So much for a warm up

Can anyone help me with a few answers? Is parking free? What time do I need to be there to get in quickly without early bird? Will there be any ccf medals at the show (I didn't order one originally and have regretted it)? Is there a concession stand inside? Thanks

The doors open to the public at 10am. You can get there a few minutes beforehand, pick up a name tag, and then join the crowd rushing the door. There is a cafeteria.

Another thing to remember about FUN is that dealers work the coin show circuit on a national basis versus a regional one almost always will do FUN. FUN along with Baltimore is so important that some national circuit dealers will work both of those and skip either the ANA National or Long Beach. The great thing about FUN is that it grows and grows every year pretty much. Once in while it does have a down year but usually that's cause weakness in the entire coin market pulls it under. Long Beach is going in the opposite direction and the location from a source on that side of country I know leaves much to be desired. The area in Florida for FUN is a nice vacation spot that people love wear as Long Beach not so much.
