Hi guys!
Hope everyone is doing well.
I have question about a ASE coin,
If I use it as a pocket piece store it
Separately in a leather pouch but spin it
Daily how long till it will wear completely smooth
Given it's .999 silver?
And if you had a choice between ASE, Mexican libertad
Which would you use?
I have a Morgan but in a capsule, I will not use it
As I payed $100 for it,1879p yes expensive but ya!
Thank you for reading!

If you keep it in its own pouch by itself it will take quite awhile. They will wear fast if they are free to jingle with other change, keys, etc.

Between the ASE and Libertad, my preference is for the Eagle. The Libertad is a beautiful coin and wouldn't hesitate to use one. But I also prefer to carry a silver dollar of some kind. To that end, the ASE fits the bill (albeit loosely, depending on who you ask).

Personally I wouldn't use .999 fine silver as you're wearing away value...

That said, the ASEs are prettier coins to me.

In ten years of hard wear your ASE value will drop less than the price of a cup of Starbucks coffee. Which will you enjoy more?

Although I like coffee, 10 years of it making memories through the good and bad is sooo much better, a story is worth so much more!
Let's just hope my son don't get hold of it lol
Rest in Peace

How old are you? To wear an ASE smooth, expect decades.

I suspect that some of the severe wear was caused by slot machines.

Why not both? I carry an ASE and eventually will have a Libertad added to the mix. The two coins can bang off each other and wear each other down.

I tried carry around an ASE without anything else in the pocket and all it did was polish it. Added keys and change to mix and now I have a XF-45/AU-50 coin.

I can't really tell if the picture is in focus. But on the plus side it will double as a signal mirror.
