My favorite teller handed me a bunch (94) of these Monday. Goin' through 'em and came across this.
This is a FEV Variety but there is "something" going on above the mint mark. It looks like another "D". I don't think it's re-punched...but honestly when I think I get into trouble and I've stared at this long enough. Just thought some of the experts here could give some opinions and help me out. Thank you!

There are two known RPM's for the 1971-D Type 1 (FEV). Both require a microscope to see clearly. It's possible to have MDD doubling on the mint mark. you'd need to have a specialist look at it to figure out what you have.
