Look at the price that this PCGS G-4, 1921-D half is at! They could get 2 VG-8's for that price! Plus the coin they are bidding on isn't particularly nice for the grade, and has poor eye-appeal imo.

I have better quality ones in my junk silver pile.

Is this maybe a case of buying the slab? not because the grade is wrong, but the PCGS's reputation pushing the price up?

It's probably the only G04 PCGS has ever graded.

Both of these are better looking coins imo, for a much better price. Thus, I don't think they are buying the slab in this case.

UPDATE: It looks like the coin is listed as "Not Sold". I imagine the buyer backed out once he sobered up. The bid was at $750 before any buyer's premium's!
