OK, I think I found what I'm looking for. Here's two 3-Legs, the one I like better is up for "Buy It now" $1920!!!. But man, does it seem to have a lot of detail and luster. The other one is a VERY clean example, but a somewhat weak strike (at least according to my novice eyes). I think I got a real shot at getting the second example for a decent price. Both are NGC AU58. There's no way I'm paying $1920 for an NCG 58, but it does put the other in contrast, if that makes sense. So, what do you think of the BOTTOM Buffalo? A nice AU-58 or no?

The first coin looks much nicer. It seems like you already know that. You might regret it if you don't stretch and go for the one with the overall best eye appeal.

I say put your money back in your pocket and keep on looking for other examples that will be just as nice and a lot less expensive. These aren't coins that I would want in my collection and I'm sure they arent up to the standard you have set for yours. Keep on shopping, you won't be sorry.

Paratroop! since the photography is quite different between the two coins, it is impossible to really tell which is the nicer coin or which is at the better price. At least it's impossible for me! In the end, you, and only you, can decide what you want and how much you're willing to pay for it. It's easy for the rest of us to spend your money, since we don't face any consequences.

Best wishes...and good luck in your pursuit of a 3-legged buff!

Another just listed here without a pic as of yet, but he will post one if you request it. This dealer is a stand-up guy. I once bought a coin from him that was rejected from a grading company and he made good long after the deal was made.

The first one is nicer, but $1920 seems way too much for this grade.

The first is definitely the nicer coin. I don't like the roughness on the obverse of the second, so that would put that one out of the running for me right away.

I think the price on the first one is a little high, but it is an extremely nice coin. Maybe you can make an offer for the first at what you can afford to pay and the seller will accept it? I'd give it a shot if I were you.
