Halseyn New Member Canada 4 Posts	Posted 09/28/2013 09:52 am Hi I live in Canada (Montreal) and am interested in obtaining a gothic crown (1847) but I am nervous of fakes. Gothic crowns aren't that rare, but are desirable and there are copies out there. Where to suggest rather depends on what you wanted to spend. Prices going from a few hundred pounds (CA$500) up to tens of thousands! That's how I got mine. There have been some Chinese fakes on ebay that look very good - but the edge lettering was larger than on genuine coins and in a slightly different style. These crowns saw little circulation and it's rare to find them in worse than about GVF although I have seen one with ex-jewellery mount marks. They are beautiful coins and I have never regretted purchasing mine!
