i am pretty sure that is a "teardrop" like cud/die break on E from liberty. does there appear to be any other errors on the coin? thanks in advance!

I agree, the term Cud does not apply here. This does appear to be a tiny die defect that is possibly a small chip.

" Cud" is one of those terms that is losing its original definition.
To truly be a cud the rim has to be involved.
In this case it is a die chip under the "E".
But cud is now often used in lieu of die chip.

The same happened with other numismatic terms and they persist because people understand them.
Eventually (alas!) they will become correct.

One that became correct years ago is the term "penny".
The US does NOT have pennies.
Look at the reverse of the coin in this post.
It is a "CENT".

Another one that may soon become accepted is "double die".
Sorry, the correct term is "doubled die".
But for how long?
