Hi. I wanted to challenge my self with the 1970s small date. Wow this is really intense. I think the one on the right mite be a small date. My girl friend thinks the one on the left could be a small date. Any knowledge will be helpfull. Thank you.

Both are large dates. There are a number of items to look for (including a weak LIBERTY) but I find the alignment of the 9, 7 and 0 to be the easiest to see.

The image below (from Google Images) is a good comparison.

Welcome Aaron 1978. Both are large dates. You know this topic should have its own page as the question comes up almost daily. Each new collector should print a copy of coop's great photos showing both and tape them to the computer screen. Maybe actually buying a SD to keep as a reference is the way to learn, but after you see it, you got it.

It looks to me that the left is a small date, but lets see what other say.

Both Large,,tip of the 9 is pointing wrong for a small,,tip needs to point across,,your 2 Cents point down at about 5 o clock and not 3 o clock,,,Cosmos
