maridvnvm Pillar of the Community United Kingdom 2100 Posts	Posted 09/29/2013 5:40 pm I cannot find anything in Svoronos that is an exact match. The dating and mint seem conclusive (at least to me) but there isn't anything listed anywhere I have been able to research with the star. There are stars on the LN issue of Ptolemy VIII Euergetes but nothing to match if my reading of Lambda Alpha is correct. Report this Post to the Staff
sel_69l Bedrock of the Community Australia 21788 Posts	Posted 09/29/2013 11:26 pm This coin is not really worn, but the reason for it's much poorer than EF condition, is the result of silver crystallization. That explains the flaking, and also the textured surface on Ptolemy's face. If this coin was very thin, it would have completely broken up long ago; it still needs to be handled with care.
