Is it common to find older Egyptian coins in circulation?

The oldest you can find is a 5 or 10 piastres coin 1967. Older coins can be bought from coin dealers or auctions.

World coins, mainly 19th and 20th century. I am not interested into proof coins and only mildly into commemorative coins, except if they were/are circulting.
My major part of interest are coins from Luxembourg, India and France.

I collect FAO coins and albums.

There are about 120 countries and I have nearly all the coins except for the very rare gold coins which I am always looking for.

I collect any kind of coin. That's not because I wouldn't like a thematic collection, but because here in Romania there is no authorised dealer, no place where you can go and buy a coin. It's very hard to find a coin around here, so finding a specific one would be even harder.I just get every coin that gets in my way.
I collect by year. And if I were to choose a subject for my collection, I would go for the great European Empires: Russian, French, Austrian, German, Ottoman.

I'm with the other OFECers that have posted here.

All countries are good. The more, the merrier.

Still, countries that I (or my friends/relatives) have visited are over-represented in my collection. The "big seven" for me are Australia, Canada, France, Germany, Great Britain, New Zealand and the United States - I have over 150 coins from each of these places.

I used to collect everything from everywhere, but it finally got disappointing having so many odd-ball coins without any semblance of a collection, looking more like a crazy man's hoard. I pondered through everything, and narrowed my focus down (several times) to the point that now I only collect coins from the southern Slavic states, which includes Yugoslavia and the now independent states that were once part of Yugoslavia (Bosnia, Croatia, Macedonia, Serbia and Slovenia). Although the collecting has slowed down considerably, I feel much more rewarded and gratified when I actually do fill a hole in my collection. There are still a lot of holes to fill, and even though they are all common coins, their commonness increases their elusiveness, making the hunt all the more challenging.

Same here, although there are certain things I keep an eye out for more than other.

I'm also guilty of collecting anything that catches my eye. I especially like coins from the German States, 19th century mexican coins and anything with a fish on it. Eventually I'd like to get OFEC, but it's not a priority at this time.

Angielczyk - do you have any of the more modern FAO coins that haven't made the Krause catalog yet? I recently picked up a 1995 Uganda 200 shilling and had a tough time finding a comparison for pricing.

Here is a list of the FAO coins that do not appear in Krause. They were all part of a 1995 issue for the 50th anniversary of FAO,

They all appear in the Schon Welt Muntzkatalog with the exception of the Laos 50 Kip coin. I list the coin katalog number and value.

The prices quoted in this catalogue are in Euros except that the Trinidad and Tobago proof coin (only 1000 pieces issued of which 930 were put in sets) has no price quoted. Krause shows the CN version

They are all silver proof with the exception of the Solomon Island 20 cent coin.

Guinea Bissaue 20,000 Pesos 23 €40
Laos 50 Kip (not in Catalogue)
Solomon Islands 20 cents 62 €15
Solomon Islands 1 Dollar 63 €60
Tonga 1 Pa'anga 183 €40
Trinidad and Tobago 1 Dollar 57a no value stated
Tunisia 1 dinar 289 €35
Uganda 5000 shillings 51 €50

I am inserting pictures of each except the Solomon Islands 20 cents which I can't find for the moment.
