This was part of a lot with my elephant.
The obverse is nice and crisp, but there seem to be a lot of tiny bumps (pearls) on the surface. Also on the reverse, although a bit difficult to tell.

Your opinions greatly valued:

These 'pearls' are the sort of problems I encountered myself when making some castings many years ago. In this case it looks like little or no effort was made to try and eliminate the bubbles before the investment of the wax object. By painting the surface with a mild detergent and then using a vibrator after pouring the 'plaster' used to make the mold 90% of the bubbles are eliminated (esp. the large ones !) The unusual feature seen at 10 o'clock on Obv. and 7 o'clock on reverse is the remains of the casting sprue. This is the entry point for the molten metal.
I am 99.99% sure it is a cast copy

I am 100%. I am looking at the other coins I got in the same lot a little more closely.

'Cast' was my first and only thought.
