It is very shiny in a crinkly sort of way. The black on the coin is a deposit of some sort. It almost looks as though it has been spray painted.

Can't find the reverse on wildwinds, but not checked acsearch yet. The legend on the reverse is so undefined I can't read the beginning but it seems to end in IIIPP.

There is a crack and under the scope there appears to be a touch of BD but I have not poked around. Sorry about the pics, it is very difficult to photo silver!

A typical low grade Severan Denarius, this is of "Elagabalus" which was his nickname, taken from the Syrian Diety he worshipped.
His official name was Marcus Aurelius Antoninus.

This is an Elagabalus? At least it is real! Still looking for AP then, thanks Masis.

Cracks are almost always a good sign that the coin is real or at very least 'struck'. Green spots will appear more often in later silver as the copper content increases. For Elagabalus probably around 25% copper. A little green can be good sign too. Fakes are often made with pure or sterling (.925) silver. Personally ....... "I likes em green"

The coin looks good. What concerns me is that the person cleaning these coins is using harsh chemicals that leave the surface looking like that.

You can't tell from the pics on ebay what they are like, it is a bit pot luck.
