My Mother-In-Law asked me if I could find out if these notes were worth anything. The 2 notes pictured are fairly crisp, but have been folded in the past.

She also has two $1 silver certificates, one series of 1957A, the other series of 1935E. These are not in very good shape, one has a tear, the other has a hole, & both are extremely wrinkled. Any help on any of these notes would be appreciated.

THE 1 1953 UNITED STATES 2 DOLLAR NOTE MIGHT GRADE EF= $6.00

2) EVEN thought the $20.00 looks like a National currency note it is actually a federal reserve bank note. in VF = $40.00 Richmond I would grade yours as a Fine. prices could have changed some since the time of my book was printed 2004

I don't have any idea of how to assign a condition grade to these. Except for the obvious folds the $2 is pretty nice, & fairly crisp. The $20 isn't as nice, it almost looks like it might have been ironed at some time, lots of tiny wrinkle marks but it's flat & "stiffish". My Mother-in-Law doesn't have any interest in these or any of the coins she asked me about. I have to talk to her about it, but will probably list the notes in the auction section with a starting bid of face value.

The $2 might grade EF. The 20 is more close to fine. I dont think it would bring much over face at auction

Personally, I don't believe that $2 has any change getting EF. I would grade it VF at best but more likely F. That $20 is also a Fine and if sold on ebay you could get $30-$40 for it. Most definetly $30.
