Heres another 1995 five cent, with obvious striations throughout the whole reverse. The obverse is normal.Any guess would be better than mine as to what this is,would this be considered a type of rippling, maybe a die polishing error? thanks!

The lines are perfectly parallel and go through the devices as well as the fields. I am inclined to say those are an effect of the rolling of the copper-nickel strips (i.e., rolling marks).

You commonly see a similar effect on the 1968-1970 nickel dollars.

I have a nickel with the same lines. I think the coin was not annealed leaving it harder and more likely for the roller lines to survive the strike force..just my opinion

Could it be an alloy mixing error similar to what causes woody pennies?
