Incused Union Jack

First a really dirty 1968 20c with a Cud error maybe?

2012-50c-Bubble

& a 1985 $1 which I just can't explain maybe PMD?

Gluck!!
I have only been collecting for about 3 wks and I'm absolutely obsessed now!
I'm sure it's all about luck! I get my coins from a bank teller who has an elephant on her desk with the trunk up! Very lucky I say :)
What do you think about the other coins jpl?

Hi, I would have to say the 1968 20ct is PMD, Coin Cud's form when a part of the Die chip's off, and the forming metal seep's out/in from the design. Cud error's have a very distinctive look & will start to look familiar to you after seeing a few in your career.
And for the 1985 $1 seem's like it was squashed ie; vice, PMD on this one. ( I Think ) Cheer's jpl..

PS, excellent job with the Incused Flag.

I might remind you all that I named this error a 'bubble' in early 2012....therefore, I would
suggest that I have rights to this terminology for this error. Others might call it a 'circle', 'ring' , or something else.......

Yeah right like apple own the copyright on the rectangle

FYI Ausjack posted this coin with pictures a long time ago on a different forum
You did first post the 2010 20 cent bubble coin and we all gave you "Kudos" for that discovery.
However Kudos does NOT equate to "Copyright" and people can name their coins whatever they like, It's not like we are discovering new stars or galaxies here.

Okay Trout....the only way this would be described as a 'bubble' would be by use
of the imagination in relation to the whole coin......I refer you to the discussion on this
in February 2012

I do remember the discussions on the 20 cent coin because the error fitted so well with the design of the coin.
However this is a totally different coin and design and the use of "Bubble" to describe it is apt because that is simply what it looks like , It doesn't enhance the design at all and is simply an error
Do you really think that the first person to describe a failing die error as a " Cud" wanted copyright to that description
Relax Mate, You should feel proud that you have added to the terminology used by error collectors and NOT be miffed when someone uses "Bubble" to describe an error

might be a different coin Trout....but named a 'bubble' because of the previous reference to
this 'error' on the 2010 Twenty Cent.
It it is out of context on this coin, then why call it a 'bubble'?

Simply because it looks like one and is similar to the error on the 20 cent coin.
I would imagine the same cause for the 2010 20 cent error is the culprit for the 2012 50 cent error.
It make all the sense in the world to me
