Just wanted some thoughts on this Morgan. It looks to me like it has a strong strike. Small scratch on the cheek though.

PCGS graded it XF45 and I agree. The asking price is a bit high but not out of line.

My thought is that if you're going to spend that kind of money, it's not much more for a much nicer AU coin.

I don't know if the extra $100-ish a 10-point jump requires is in his comfort zone. This one is not bad but not Earth-shaking at the grade and a case of beer or two high at the price.

I Would also go with the 45 grade as accurate. To me the obverse scratches would knock down the value some

SsuperDdave,

How do I determine what a good price is? I have the grade sheet that shows a XF 1893 Morgan at $230-$250 and I also use Numismedia that shows it in XF-40 at $264.00. So would a fair price be $247.00? I know that the looks of the coin is a factor to, along with being slabbed, so I will be posting pics of the 1893's that I am looking at here for opinions. Am I correct in my thinking on pricing?

Nice coin, and solid for the grade.
