Saw this in a drawer in No Frills when I peeked in :p and asked the cashier to trade me for my quarter. I assume its NCLT but which millenium set is it from? Pretty neat to see it floating around in public What-Set-Is-This-From?

Oh, I had the 2000 version of this medallion.

I think it was actually issued in a Millennium Canada Post stamp set. From what I've seen of these sets (i.e. about 10 empty boxes with all the stamps glued onto one heavy package behind the till at Citadel), many were broken up and the little medallions spent as quarters.

I know nothing specific of this piece, but I have seen mint medals included in proof sets. The medals themselves are often silver plated.

I have one of those only dated 2000, it has a dove instead of bunch of maple leaves. The other side is the same. In my package it says: Canada Post's Official Millennium Keepsake. So it's NCLT.

Right on! Thanks for the info everyone. This actually reminds me, I totally forgot my mom, about a year ago, found me the 2000 version with the dove on it. Forgot that it was in my safe. Pretty neat that both were found in change.

Thanks CC-Ottawa I actually have that set and the 2000 edition as well. Just had no idea that was on the back of the coin as I obviously wasn't going to pop it out of the set.:)

The 1999 & 2000 medallions are all made from nickel.
