I was just wondering when coins were first rolled in paper wrappers? Where they "shotgun" wrappers or flat paper wrappers? Thanks all.

At least since 1908. Search Google for "patent paper coin wrappers" and about the 4th hit is the "Official Gazette of the United States Patent Office" shows two patents just that year, #s 892474, 897012

http://www.google.com/patents/US892474
http://www.google.com/patents/US897012

Neither of them identify prior art, but both talk about "improvements"

So that's just a start...
