In fact, this is very much a coin that I would've loved to add to my collection if I could just afford it (but I can't - it's a relatively uncommon date, so it's worth something like $30+, which is quite a lot for me). You are correct, the wear on the reverse is honest - notice how the orb, the diamonds and the bar all show even wear... And 58s can be at best moderately struck.
